This is very common, and I’m truly sorry I can’t work with everyone 1:1. But I created Personal development groups and reflective practices to offer the same quality of care in a larger quantity. The resources page offers both free and paid self-help content. The groups focus on a range of subjects, from combatting anxiety and feeling relationship-ready to creating healthy work/life balances, just to name a few. I assess each person who attends to foster a community spirit of safety and inclusion of difference.
-
We sit in a room or online, and I try to make you cry… jokes aside, the main goal is to establish an enriching, trusting, safe and holistic therapeutic relationship where you’re so ace at understanding your emotions, you can identify and structure installing your needs to be met. Creating stabilising boundaries, fostering healthy habits and living your best life! But, before that graduation day takes place, I will help develop a treatment plan using various techniques to alleviate the obstacles in the way of your authentic self emerging.
-
The length of individual therapy varies depending on your needs. Many clients are surprised at how time flies in session with me (obviously because they’re having fun), while others wish they could speed the whole process up! Technically, all that matters is that you receive the best support, and part of that is learning to be patient and accepting that we never really get it done. There’s always a nook or cranny in our blind spot!

If you have this strong desire to feel and think better because you're struggling with emotional distress, persistent negative thoughts, relationship issues, or feeling overwhelmed by life changes, then therapy can help.

As I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist, here are just a few:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviours.
Psychodynamic Therapy: Explores unconscious processes and past experiences.
Humanistic Therapy: Emphasizes personal growth and self-acceptance.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Focuses on being present in the moment and reducing stress through mindfulness. Can include Spiritual practises.
Solution-Focused Therapy: Centers on finding solutions and setting goals for the future.
Somatic Attunement: Deepening your connection with your body to enable the expression of trauma and stored memories.
The type of therapy recommended depends on your needs which we can discuss during your free Zoom call.
-
Therapy sessions typically occur once a week, I make it a point to only work this way because I’ve seen the disruption to starting on this very challenging and rewarding journey, to not have a structure or grounding because of irregular appointments. Some may require more frequent sessions initially, while others might reduce frequency as progress is made.
-
The duration of therapy varies greatly. Short-term therapy may last for 6-12 sessions, while long-term therapy can continue for months or even years, depending on the complexity of the issues being addressed. The length of therapy is a collaborative decision between you and your therapist.
-
Oh, Yes, therapy is confidential. Ethical and legal guidelines bind me to protect your privacy. However, there are exceptions, such as if I believe you are a danger to yourself or others or in cases of abuse or court orders.
-
During a session, you talk about your concerns (usually stemming from mum or dad or carers, I know, annoying and cliche!) and goals. I listen (with kind eyes and a calm demeanour!) I ask very cool questions (like the ones you wish you could write down and remember!), and provide feedback or strategies. Some sessions focus on specific issues, while others explore emotions, thoughts (what your boy/girlfriend did, pets, that cool show you saw that made you re-think everything, etc) or behaviours more broadly. You and I support the pace and focus of therapy, which is why I say we collaborate in building the relationship because it requires intention from both of us :)
-
£110 for a 50-minute session (The “Therapeutic Hour”, if you have ever wondered why it’s not 60)
Buying blocks of 4+ sessions is the best route as it relieves you of remembering to pay and gets you a little discount of 5%.
-
Potentially, you’re part of a safe community of seven other people who share a common theme you’re going through, and I share tools, insights, and reflective practices to reach a shared goal of betterment. It can be an insightful, enriching process, but let's chat, and I can offer a little more direction.
Group Therapy
-
Group therapy is a type of psychotherapy in which a small group of people (typically 6-12) meet regularly with a trained therapist to discuss their personal issues and experiences. Normally members are invited into the group based on the degree to which they fit the profile of an ideal member. I will assess each member before creating the group, and once the group is established, adding new members will be subject to evaluating what’s best for the group dynamic.
-
Imagine a circle of people talking and sharing their thoughts and feelings. A therapist guides the conversation and helps everyone feel safe and supported. You can talk about what's bothering you, listen to others, and learn from each other's experiences. A well-functioning therapy group offers its members a safe and secure place to discuss and work out problems and emotional issues. It’s like an evolutionary look at how our Indigenous ancestral ways of life happened in some shared community space, offering different perspectives to reflect and change. My role is to share feedback, insights, interventions, and tangible takeaways to enhance your personal development journey.
-
Group therapy can provide several benefits, including:
A sense of community and belonging: “You’re Not Alone”
Cost-effective: Cheaper than traditional 1:1 therapy, group therapy can offer an affordable choice whilst still seeing personal benefits.
Real-time feedback: The group becomes a social microcosm, allowing you to see how you interact with others and receive feedback in a safe environment.
The opportunity to learn from and support others
Increased self-awareness and understanding
Improved communication and social skills
Reduced symptoms of mental health conditions
You can identify and address unhelpful relationship patterns contributing to your challenges.
Witnessing other group members overcome challenges and make progress inspires hope and motivates you in your journey.
Altruism: Helping Others Helps You
-
You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Just listening to others can be helpful, too! Participation could offer profound reflections, but it’s your journey, so steady progress has a lasting effect.
-
Not on my watch! I’m a stickler for justice and empowerment, so bullying or anything that doesn’t allow inclusion is a big No for me! Group therapy has rules to ensure everyone feels respected and safe. My job is to help everyone be kind, respectful and understanding of each other.
-
Some common topics discussed in group therapy include:
Relationships
Communication
Conflict resolution
Grief and loss
Trauma
Anxiety and depression
Addiction
-
A huge warm welcome to start. In your first group therapy session, I’ll share some prompt questions I created to remove the stigma of introducing yourself and share a little about your reasons for seeking therapy. I will then lead the group to discuss topics relevant to everyone's needs.
-
Yes, group therapy is confidential. The other group members and I keep everything that is said confidential. This will be a mandatory requirement we all contract to before we begin. The only caveat is if there are safety concerns.
-
The Groups last for 90 minutes and run for 8-20 consecutive weeks (unless theres holiday, which is discussed beforehand) depending on the cohort subject. For example, stress management cohorts usually last 8 weeks, while anxiety cohorts typically last 10 weeks. This can alter depending on the type of group and the members' needs
-
Each 90-minute session is £45.
-
Each group has 6-8 individuals. If a group drops below 6, we will continue, and if appropriate for the group dynamic, new members will be added.
-
Typically, members opt to pay in advance, all in one go. If you’d prefer to split it, using the Trafft booking system, you can pay for the first four sessions. The remainder is due four weeks before the last session date. 72 hours notice is required if you can’t attend a session.
-
Absolutely, particular trauma groups wouldn’t be appropriate to mix genders; equally, there are cohorts on racial stigmas for black or mixed black heritage that require their groups. Women or men groups are available, as well as couples groups.
-
Group therapy might be a good fit if you're open to sharing with others and learning from their experiences. It's always a good idea to talk to me first to see if it's the most appropriate choice.
